Pure Hymns

This is a fabulous collection of arrangements. Several tracks are from years ago, the hymns of my childhood,(I'm 51) they are artfully arranged without losing their original presence. Then there are several new pieces that I was unfamiliar with, but I have to tell you, I've come to love them all. I find this set to be comforting as well as refreshing. I've recently purchased this again, as I like to have a copy for my car as well as the house, I also worry I am going to 'wear out' my original cd from playing it so much.

Great CD if you are looking for christian instrumental; however, one song included lyrics, which I did not like as I was looking for a strictly instrumental CD.

Pure Hymns is true listening pleasure. It calms your spirit and brings you into the presence of the true and living God.

I am somewhat new in my walk with God. Music has always been a major part of my life (until a year ago, it was mostly just heavy metal music I listened to) and when I experienced a life changing event (being baptised in the name of Jesus Christ and being filled with the Holy Ghost), I wasn't sure what I would have a desire to listen to. I found many great Christian CDs and love to worship God with something playing in the background to help me enter into a deeper worship. Now, don't take this wrong. This CD of John Tesh's "Pure Hymns" is not merely background music. It is a terific statement of the power of worship music and John's personal gift of translating, writing, and performing. I am so happy I purchased this CD (my first but not the last of John's music). We have Home Friendship Group every week and often spend time just praying and worshipping. I am going to use this the next time we get together. It is sure to bring everyone closer to God as we worship and pray. I like listening to is during my own personal prayer and worship. I highly recommend this to everyone. Thank you Mr. Tesh. Your gift of music is truly God given.

I think that this is the most soothing music ever! I makes me feel at peace and relaxed, it is perfect to unwind and fall asleep after a long day.
